Dr. Hsu received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Aeronautics and Astronautics from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan, in 2007 and 2013, respectively. He was a Visiting Researcher with the Faculty of Engineering, University College London (UCL) and Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology (TUMSAT), in 2012 and 2013, respectively. In 2013, he won a Student Paper Award and two Best Presentation Awards from the Institute of Navigation (ION). He was selected as a Japan Society for the Promotion of Sciences Postdoctoral Fellow with the Institute of Industrial Science, The University of Tokyo (UTokyo) and worked from 2014 to 2016. He is an Associate Fellow in the Royal Institute of Navigation. Dr. Hsu currently are members of ION and IEEE and serve as a member of the editorial board and reviewer in professional journals related to GNSS.
DR. WEISONG WEN
Associate Director of IPNL (Multi-sensors Integrated Navigation System), Research Assistant Professor in AAE, PolyU

Short bio:
Dr. Wen received the B.Eng. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Beijing Information Science and Technology University (BISTU), Beijing, China, in 2015, and the M.Eng. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the China Agricultural University, in 2017. After that, he received a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), in 2020. He was also a visiting Ph.D. student with the Faculty of Engineering, University California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley) in 2018. In 2020, he won the Best Presentation Award from the Institute of Navigation (ION), and the First Prize in Hong Kong Section in Qianhai-Guangdong-Macao Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, 2019. Before joining PolyU as a Research Assistant Professor, he was a senior research fellow at AAE of PolyU.
His mission and dedication are to develop cutting-edge, low-cost, and accurate positioning solutions for systems (autonomous vehicles, UAVs, smartphones, etc) with navigation requirements that can intelligently operate in a complex and diverse environment with sensing capability. His current research interests include 1) low-cost SLAM, GNSS, and deeply complementary multi-sensor integration-based positioning in complex scenarios. Mapping and localization for city-scale reconstruction (2) State estimation algorithm with non-Gaussian sensor noise and unknown outliers, optimization with highly non-convex surfaces. 3) Multiple agents collaborative positioning, cloud positioning.

DR. BING XU

Short Description:
Dr Xu (ORCID: 0000-0003-3677-1109) received his BEng degree from Nanjing University of Science and Technology, China in 2012. He was awarded the PhD degree in navigation guidance and control from the same university in 2018. Prior to his current position, Research Assistant Professor with Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering (AAE), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the same institution from August 2018 to April 2020.

Short Description:
Dr. Guohao Zhang received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and automation from University of Science and Technology Beijing, China. He received his master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and his Ph.D. degree in Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He was selected by the “Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme” from the same university. He won the ION GNSS+ Student Paper Award in 2019 and the Best Presentation Award in 2018 by the Institute of Navigation.

DR. LIANG ZHANG (PH.D. SEU)

Dr. Zhang received the Ph.D. degree in Instruments Science and Technology from Southeast University in 2021 and the M.S. degree in Navigation, Guidance, and Control from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2017. He is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Interdisciplinary Division of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering (AAE), the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His research interest includes inertial navigation, integrated navigation technology, and underwater positioning technology.

DR. RONGHE JIN (PH.D. WHU)

Dr. Ronghe JIN received the bachelor's and master’s degree in Surveying and Mapping Engineering and his Ph.D. degree in Geodesy and Survey Engineering, Wuhan University. He is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

FENG HUANG

HUANG Feng received his Bachelor’s degree from Shenzhen University in Automation in 2014 and MSc in Electronic Engineering at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2016. HAOSHENG XU

Mr Xu received a bachelor degree in Thermal Energy and Power Engineering from Jilin University (JLU), China, in 2016. HOI FUNG (IVAN) NG

Mr Hoi-Fung Ng received a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Air Transport Engineering and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2018 and 2021, respectively. He is currently a PhD student in the Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is a recipient of the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship. His research interests include 3D mapping aided GNSS positioning and navigation in urban canyons.

PENGHUI XU
Research areas: machine learning based GNSS urban localization and multi-sensor integration for positioning
XU Penghui received a B.S. degree from South China Agricultural University in 2015. In 2017, he obtained his MSc degree in mechanical engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. After that, he mainly works in machine learning algorithm development. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. degree at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His research interests include machine learning based GNSS urban localization and multi-sensor integration for positioning.

MAX LEE

Max Lee received a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Aviation Engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2021, respectively. He has interned in Boeing previously as an engineer. He is currently a PhD student in the Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is a recipient of the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship. Jiachong CHANG received the B.S. degree from the Department of Automation, Harbin Engineering University, Harbin, China, in 2016, and the M.S. degree from Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China, in 2018. Mr LIU Xikun received his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China in 2017, and master’s degree in Mechatronics and Information Technology from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany in 2021. He is currently a project assistant in Intelligent Positioning and Navigation Laboratory. ZHONG Yi Han obtained bachelor's degree in process equipment and control engineering from Guangxi University in 2020. Huseyin DURAN obtained his BSc. Degree in Aerospace Engineering Department from Middle East Technical University, Ankara/Turkey in 2020. His MSc. degree will be rewarded by Beihang University, Beijing/China in 2023. He has experience in engineering discipline — design and optimization of navigation of deep space missions, localization of planetary exploration vehicles.
