Before joining PolyU as a Research Assistant Professor, he was a senior research fellow at AAE of PolyU.

His mission and dedication are to develop cutting-edge, low-cost, and accurate positioning solutions for systems (autonomous vehicles, UAVs, smartphones, etc) with navigation requirements that can intelligently operate in a complex and diverse environment with sensing capability. His current research interests include 1) low-cost SLAM, GNSS, and deeply complementary multi-sensor integration-based positioning in complex scenarios. Mapping and localization for city-scale reconstruction (2) State estimation algorithm with non-Gaussian sensor noise and unknown outliers, optimization with highly non-convex surfaces. 3) Multiple agents collaborative positioning, cloud positioning.

Area of Specialization:

Autonomous Driving, Robotics, Mapping, and Localization, Sensor Fusion, GNSS, SLAM

Research Goal: Solving the challenging positioning and navigation problem in challenging scenarios, such as urban canyons, dense traffic roads.
